The first Continued Professional Development (CPD) Lecture hosted by the Society of Radiographers took place on Thursday 17th May, 2012 at the Valpark Chinese Restaurant, Valsayn. Our guest speaker was The ISRRT Director of Education, Ms. Cynthia Cowling who presented on the topic; “Simulation and Innovation in Radiography Education.”
There was an attendance of approximately 45 persons (comprising of Diagnostic and Therapuetic Radiographers, Retired members and Students). This session got on the way at 5:10pm with the Chairman’s (Vice President, Mr. Aleth Bruce) opening remarks followed by the National Anthem and Invocation by Mrs. Gainnes-Cuffy. The President of the Society (Ms. Reshma Maheepat) gave a welcoming speech followed by Ms. Wilma Collins who prepared and presented an authentic introduction to welcome guest speaker; Ms. Cynthia Cowling.
Ms. Cowling’s presentation was well received by the many present. A question and answer session. Many thanks were extended to her by Secretary, Mrs. Ingrid Charles-Russell, in her vote of thanks, as well as, to all persons who made every effort to attend and participate in the event.
A token of appreciation was made to Ms. Cowling Assistant Secretary/Treasurer, Mr. Phillip Simon to express the Society’s sincere gratitude for sharing with all her time and wealth of knowledge. The evening proceedings continued with light refreshments and lively discussions amongst the guests. The activities concluded at around 8:00pm.
